Charcoal Face Soap

The idea of this facial bar comes from Coal Face of Lush.

Before starting to make soap, I used to be a BIG fan of Lush. I contributed lots of my money to their products, shampoos, soaps, fresh masks, bubble bars, bath bombs, etc... until I knew how to make soaps, I woke up.

Charcoal Face was made for my hubby's normal-to-oiy face. I added wheat germ oil, shea butter and evening primrose oil to this soap. My hubby loves it very much! I love it, too.

Ingredients:
EVOO, coconut oil, wheat germ oil, shea butter, evening primrose oil, EO of lavender, fragrant oil, activated charcoal, Chinese herbal tea.

Avocado Milk Soap

Since I started to make soaps, I found it's kind of difficult to find some soap ingredients here in Ontario. Unrefined avocado oil is one of them.

Unrefined avocado oil is rich in vitamins and has beautiful dark green color. It is a very popular oil among Asian soap artisans, but I can hardly find it here.

Finally, I found MountainRoseHerbs.com carrys it. Yeah! =)

I added avocado milk to this soap, and it made the soap turn out yellowish green.

100% Ylang Ylang Castile Soap

100% olive oil castile soap is one of my favorite soaps. Its extremely mild lather is very good for sensitive skin, children skin and even baby skin. I love using castile soaps in winter because it's not only gently cleansing but also nourishing my skin.

Castile soap doesn't have large bubbles like coconut or castor oil based soaps do. Its lather is pretty creamy, yet more viscous. See how I lathered a castile soap...

100% Castile soap is amazing! =)

Mint Beer Shampoo Soap

I love using natural handmade shampoo bar! Can't live without it, period.

Black Sesame Alkanet Soap



This soap came from a Chinese remedy called "Alkanet Remedy". The main ingredients of this remedy are black sesame oil, Chinese angelica root, alkanet and beewax. Some people would add menthol crystals for the cooling effect.

This remedy gives skin the relief of insect bites, itchiness and diaper rash. Sesame oil is known for its moisturizing benefits. I made a batch of this remedy. It works! However, I really can't stand the smell of "black sesame oil" which is too strong for me. So....I transformed the remedy to soap! :P

50% Lard Milk Soap

This was my first lard soap. The reason why I made it was because one of my Canadian soapmaking friends loves to add animal fats to her soaps. She said animal-fat bars are hard, stable and long lasting. So, I gave it a try.

This "luxury recipe" is from a famous Japanese soaper named 前田京子. I added soya milk to give this soap more moisturizing power.

Anti-Hair Loss Shampoo Soap

Marshmellow lotion?! What is that? This was the first reaction I had when I heard this anti-hair loss remedy from Japan.

This lotion contains water, dried Lycium, white chocolate, sushi grade seaweed, kiwi and marshmellow...I know how you feel now (LOL). If you are interested, you can google it on website or youtube.

Evening Primrose Breast Milk Soap

I added 20% of Evening Primrose Oil to this soap. It made this a really really luxury beauty bar, only for my mom and myself. ;-P

Calendula Healing Breast Milk Soap

This is the 2nd batch of K's breast milk soap. It's made for K's baby, so I didn't add any EO or FO, nor artificial colorant. The beautiful orange color is from red palm oil. =)

Breast Milk Soap is very good for baby's skin and sensitive skin. I love to make breast milk soaps for moms because there are lots of love in those soaps.

Orz Soap

I waned to make this soap look like "watermelon". However....orz, I realized that lye does change color of some natural plant powders, like the "beet root powder" I used in this soap.
